A Sakhalin resident won bronze at the All-Russian figure skating competitions

Island figure skater Matvey Sendzyuk won a bronze medal at the all-Russian competition “Yenisei Symphony”. The competition was held in Krasnoyarsk from December 1 to 3 and brought together athletes from 15 regions of the country, reported the Crystal School.
Skaters competed for five sets of awards in single skating – from young first-class skaters aged 9-12 to women’s masters of sports. The athletes presented short and free programs.
The island region was represented at the competition by four students from the figure skating department of the Crystal sports school. The only medal for the team was brought by Matvey Sendzyuk. There he defended his sports category.
According to the program of the candidate for master of sports, Ulyana Petrishcheva from Sakhalin took 13th place. The athlete had 25 rivals. In the first sports category among girls 9-12 years old, Ksenia Plotnikova and Alena Pyatkina took 15th and 18th places, respectively, finding themselves in the middle of the tournament table.
