The Sakhalin resident fulfilled the standard for master of sports of Russia in kettlebell lifting among veterans. This was reported to the Ministry of Sports of the island region.

Vladimir Sukhanov performed at the national kettlebell lifting championship, which took place in Cheboksary. The athlete was able to fulfill the standard of the Master of Sports of Russia. Sukhanov showed the result in the heavy discipline of this sport – pushing two weights in a long cycle.

“In the first minutes of the competition, I received a warning regarding the technique of performing the exercise. I had to slow down and watch the judge’s score on the monitor. And in the last minutes, I decided to speed up at my own risk,” said the master of sports.

Vladimir prepared for these competitions for a long time and purposefully. The athlete was pleased with the result. Girevik competed in the weight category up to 70-74 kg. Based on the results of the competition, the islander showed a result that is equal to the standard of an international-class master of sports. The International Award is awarded subject to performance and confirmation of results at the World Championships.

This year it will take place in the fall in Kyrgyzstan. But Vladimir will not go there, because it was more important for him to become a Master of Sports of Russia among veterans. Girevik thanked his family for their support and the leadership of the regional sports school of the Olympic reserve of winter sports for providing a gym to prepare for the competition.
