“Sakhalin Sharks” lost to “SKA-Junior Academy” in shootouts

The meeting between the Sakhalin Sharks and the Krasnogorsk SKA-Junior Academy ended in a shootout with the guests winning with a score of 5:6. This was reported by the press service of the island hockey club.
In the first period, the Sakhalin Sharks opened the scoring. Nikita Morozov scored the puck, with assists from Daniil Korobov and newcomer to the island hockey club Alexander Khmil. Then the guests equalized the score thanks to a goal from the top scorer of the SKA-Junior Academy, Ignat Lutfullin, as well as goals from Nizovtsev and Leshchev. The teams went into the break with the score 1:3.
The main events of the game unfolded in the third period. Alexander Ustinov reduced the gap to 3:4, and then Daniil Korobov evened the score again, scoring his first goal in the MHL. The Academicians took the lead by the middle of the period, but Rashid Dashtemirov again equalized the score with a double. The match ended in a draw after 60 minutes of play. In overtime, the guests scored a goal, but it was after the end of the game.
The rivals of the Sakhalin team were the first to start the shootout series. Two attempts by both teams did not bring success to the goalkeepers. The result is 2:2. Dashtemirov and Karpov scored goals for the Sharks. However, Ustinov, Koval and Khmil were unable to convert their shots. The hosts’ coaching staff changed the goalkeeper. But Ignat Litfullin from the Krasnogorsk team converted the decisive shootout and scored a double in this match.
As part of the Sakhalin Sharks, seven players scored points. Rashid Dashtemirov scored three points (2+1), Daniil Korobov (1+1) and Ruslan Tyutyunnikov (0+2) added 2 points to their scoring assets. The most active shooting player was Rashid Dashtemirov with 20 shots, 13 of which reached the goal.
Alexander Kokarev spent the most time on the ice (24:08), and among the forwards the leader in time spent was Dashtemirov (22:07). Pavel Kolotygin led in blocked shots. Goaltender Nikita Prokofiev spent 18 minutes 51 seconds on the ice and allowed three goals out of 13 shots. Stanislav Korneev stopped eight shots out of 10 in 46 minutes and 3 seconds of play.
