Sakhalin residents won three medals at the FEFD Artistic Gymnastics Championship

Sakhalin gymnasts took two silver and one bronze medals at the Far Eastern Federal District championship and received two quotas for participation in all-Russian tournaments. Qualifying competitions were held in Khabarovsk from 20 to 24 February. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
According to the program of the Candidate Master of Sports, pupils of the Kristall sports school Stepan Trufanov and Mikhail Dvornikov competed in the competition. According to the coach of the island gymnasts Olga Speranskaya, according to the results of the all-around, Stepan was in second place, and Mikhail was in third. However, in terms of total points due to the mistakes made, Trufanov moved to third place, and Dvornikov rose to second place.
Yan Bryntsev performed in the program of the first sports category. He took second place in terms of points.
– Thus, Mikhail Dvornikov and Yan Bryntsev won the right to go to the Russian championships. Competitions of candidates for master of sports will be held in Penza, and first-class athletes will compete in Ufa. Georgy Vertelov, who, together with his colleague Evgeny Kaneka, judged at the championship held in Khabarovsk, will also go with us to the championship in Penza as a judge. Participation in such major competitions is necessary for judges to receive the All-Russian category, – Olga Speranskaya noted.
Another pupil of the school “Crystal” David Che at the championship of the Far Eastern Federal District in Khabarovsk took fourth place in the program of the first category.
