The ice school of Ilya Averbukh in the Kaluga region will be built in 2023. She will appear in Balabanovo, Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha announced on Wednesday, March 1.
“Already at the end of this year, we will build an indoor ice arena and a seasonal skating rink in Balabanovo. We will develop hockey and figure skating at these venues. Mass and professional sports. A figure skating school for the Honored Master of Sports, Olympic medalist Ilya Averbukh will be created here,” Shapsha said.
The concession agreement for the implementation of the project was signed today between Oleg Serdyukov, Minister of Sports of the Kaluga Region, and Ilya Averbukh, General Director of the Heritage Company.
It is noted that this is the first concession in the field of sports in the Kaluga region. The burden on the regional budget is significantly reduced by attracting investments. For the project in Balabanovo, the region was the only one in the Central Federal District that won the competitive selection for co-financing from the federal budget.
As previously reported, with the new complex, it will be possible to skate in the cold season, and in the warm season – on roller skates and bicycles. The school will hold events with the participation of Averbukh.
Ilya Averbukh is a famous Russian figure skater. His company will act as a concessionaire in the implementation of the project.
