Sakhalin gymnasts took third place in the Far Eastern Federal District and Siberian Federal District “Heavenly Grace Cup” tournament, which was held in Novosibirsk. This was discussed at the Sakhalin sports school.
Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva took part in the opening of the interregional rhythmic gymnastics competitions. In total, 160 athletes from the Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts competed in the tournament.
“Based on the results of their performances in the group all-around under the masters of sports program, the Sakhalin team received bronze medals,” the message said.
Now the island gymnasts will perform at the All-Russian competitions, which will take place in Sochi. The Sakhalin team included Violetta Smolyarchuk, Ekaterina Emelina, Alina Zubareva, Anastasia Korshunova and Veronika Sidorenkova. The girls are coached by Ekaterina Koroleva.
