The Miami-Dade County Police Department in the United States said it was investigating the suicide of Konstantin Koltsov, assistant head coach of the Ufa Salavat Yulaev, former forward of the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins club. Earlier, the Ufa club reported about the death of 42-year-old Koltsov during a trip to the USA. At the same time, the media cited the cause of death as a detached blood clot.
A police department spokesman said that on March 18 at 12:39 a.m., Bal Harbor Police and Fire Rescue responded to the St. Regis Bal Harbor Resort, reacting to the “apparent suicide of Konstantin Koltsov.”
The police added that they do not suspect any malicious actions by third parties.
Earlier it was reported that Koltsov was in Miami with his girlfriend, Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenka, who was supposed to participate in the WTA tournament. After the incident, she withdrew from the competition.
