Sakhalin became one of the first regions of Russia where the licensing of sports schools was completed

More than 3 million Russian children are engaged in sports schools and sections. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with the government. He also noted that today there are 5,005 organizations that are assigned 52,403 objects, 3 million 200 thousand athletes are engaged in these organizations and more than 96 thousand coaches work.

“As a result of decisions at the State Council for Sports, amendments were made to the federal legislation on physical culture, sports and education, aimed at harmonizing them, they come into force on September 1. First of all, trainers receive the status of a pedagogical worker with appropriate social guarantees: wage growth, an increase in the duration of annual leave and a simplification of the attestation procedure. Athletes receive more comfortable conditions for classes and training, the regulatory framework is being improved: 193 legal acts and 153 orders have been approved, a unified information system for managing sports schools is being formed with its subsequent integration into the Sport GIS. The government, together with the subjects, is completing the work,” Chernyshenko said.

The Ministry of Sports of Russia and the coordination center of the government have introduced a digital tracking system for the regions, representatives of all departments are connected to it, thanks to which the situation is visible for each sports school and each coach-teacher. Through licensing, we audited the entire system of youth sports. 4,263 organizations have already received perpetual licenses, this work will be completed by August 30, the issue is under the control of the Russian Ministry of Sports and the heads of the regions. The Voronezh, Kaluga, Kurgan, Sakhalin regions and the Chechen Republic were among the first to complete the licensing procedure.

Also, a bill was submitted to the State Duma on empowering subjects and municipalities with the authority to finance the training of pupils of sports schools aged 18 years and older.
