Rybakov spoke about the civil collection of signatures for Yavlinsky for the elections

The head of the Yabloko party, Nikolai Rybakov, said TASSthat the chairman of the federal political committee of the party, Grigory Yavlinsky, is conducting a political and civil collection of signatures before the Russian presidential elections. Based on its results, a decision will be made whether to collect signatures as a legal procedure for transfer to the Central Election Commission, Mr. Rybakov added.

“Yes, this is a political, civil collection of signatures. People can sign on the website, in petitions, and send their letters of support to Yabloko in any form. This is a political process… If, based on its results, a decision is made on participation (Yavlinsky.— “Kommersant”) in the elections, then it will be a legal procedure – collecting signatures in accordance with the law and transferring them to the Central Election Commission,” the party chairman told the agency.

As Mr. Rybakov explained, through the civil collection of signatures they want to determine whether a large number of citizens have the desire to have a candidate in the elections who takes a peacekeeping position and “has proven throughout his life that he will not change his principles and beliefs.”

Previously, Mr. Yavlinsky repeatedly declared, which will consider the possibility of nominating a candidate in the presidential elections, provided that at least 10 million signatures for his nomination are collected at the initiative of citizens. The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said at a seminar for vice-governors and heads of regional election commissions that a three-day voting period is planned for the presidential elections – from March 15 to 17, 2024, they reported RBC five seminar participants.
