Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow is not considering withdrawing from the Outer Space Treaty, which has established principles for the peaceful exploration of outer space since 1967.
The Outer Space Treaty is one of the key components that remains in force within the framework of the decades-long system of international agreements in this area, Ryabkov said.
The United States, according to the Russian deputy minister, has long been trying to achieve superiority in outer space, “including the weapons sector,” while Russia is fighting to keep space free of any weapons.
