Forecaster Tishkovets said that meteorological spring in Russia will come in mid-March
Leading specialist from the Phobos Meteorology Center Evgeniy Tishkovets announcedthat meteorological spring in most of Russia will not come on March 1, but later – from March 16 to 21.
He recalled that March remains a winter month, with changeable weather: from intense warming to snowfalls and blizzards in different regions.
Average temperatures across the country are expected to be relatively warm and dry, 1-3 degrees above normal, and precipitation will be 10-12% below normal.
In the European part of Russia, spring will be warm with moderate rainfall, Tishkovets emphasized. In Moscow, the snow will melt by mid-April.
“In mid-March, we expect a stable transition of the average daily temperature above zero,” the forecaster commented.
Two Arctic incursions are expected in the first and third decades of March, he added.
In April, short-term cold snaps are possible, which people accept as the “return of winter.” However, the amount of precipitation will not exceed the climate norm.
In May, precipitation will increase by 20% compared to normal.
