Russians were allowed to compete at the Paralympics in Paris in a neutral status

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has allowed athletes from Russia to participate in the Paralympics in Paris in 2024 in an individual capacity and neutral status, it says statement committee. Also, Russians in a neutral status can participate in the world championships in Paralympic sports over the next two years.
“As a result of the decision of the IPC General Assembly, Russia’s membership rights are suspended for two years, with the exception that its athletes will have the right to participate in an individual and neutral capacity at the Paralympic Games and World Championships,” the committee notes.
In addition, the International Paralympic Committee rejected the proposal to completely terminate the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) in the organization. The IPC also retained the right of the Russian Paralympic Committee to prepare athletes for participation in international competitions, it said TASS President of the RKR Pavel Rozhkov.
The Summer Paralympics in Paris will take place from August 28 to September 8 next year. Qualifying and qualifying competitions for the Paralympic Games in most disciplines have already started.
Russian Paralympians were suspended from international competitions last spring amid the military conflict in Ukraine. However, last fall, Russians were allowed to participate in competitions, but only in individual disciplines and in a neutral status. However, this decision did not apply to the Paralympics and world championships in Paralympic sports.
