“I would walk and walk if it didn’t bring problems”

Russians took an “honorable” 7th place in the case of adultery – the international agency World Population Review reports this based on the results of its own research. We learned from the figures contained in the report who made up the company of Russian citizens in the top ten in terms of “leftists” from the family and who is even more “ruler” than us, as well as from whom we should take an example in terms of respect for family principles.

According to the researchers themselves, the honesty of the respondents also took part behind the scenes in the procedure and, accordingly, the results of the resulting rating, since the data was obtained through an anonymous survey. And during its course, more often than others, US citizens admitted that they periodically cheat on their lawful spouse. With 71% of all respondents confessing, the States confidently took the “gold”, becoming the most unfaithful nation in the world. At the same time, the second question was to clarify: with whom exactly do you most often cheat on your official spouse? The Americans said that with their exes – both spouses and just lovers.

The champions in infidelity are separated from Russia by 5 more countries that honestly admitted their love for going “to the left” – this is Germany (68% of the surveyed German respondents admitted to infidelity), followed by the British (66%), Thais (61%), and the fifth The place with an equal result of 57% of those who confessed to adultery was shared by Brazil and France. And on the 6th we are with you: 53% of respondents reported their extramarital affairs in the Russian Federation. Moreover, some Russian men, like the Americans who are champions in this matter, added that “they would walk and walk if it didn’t bring problems.”

However, compatriots are distinguished from those who took higher places by reasons: if the holders of the first 3 prizes periodically “play to the left” with old passions, which, as the saying goes, “do not rust,” then Russians prefer new acquaintances for infidelity in marriage. In addition to Russians, sex with unfamiliar people or complete strangers is preferred by married Thais, French and Australians, who, together with the Japanese and Romanians, round out the top ten most unfaithful nations in the world (from 40 to 50% of cheaters from all respondents). Brazilians were the most likely to admit that they are looking for a partner for adultery on dating apps.

“It is important to understand here that during the survey the researchers asked specifically about sex with another person without the permission of a regular partner,” clarifies Russian-speaking sexologist from New York Mark Trachtenberg. – While in many countries, and especially in Europe, “open marriage” is practiced – that is, spouses allow each other sexual intimacy with other partners, and sometimes even do it together – the so-called marital “swing”. However, the researchers analyzed the number of secret betrayals – that is, accompanied by a conscious deception of the legal half, which theoretically could cause the collapse of the family.

The researchers themselves also emphasize that in different countries the level of infidelity has different effects on the institution of family. According to statistics, among the American champions of infidelity, marriages most often break up not because of infidelity, but “due to the negative influence of family friends.” And in the UK, with their “bronze” in the matter of infidelity, infidelity becomes the reason for divorce much less often than property or social disagreements in a couple. While in a strict Muslim country, infidelity can become a reason not only for divorce, but also for a whole series of conflicts between the family clans of husband and wife. That is why, as the analysts themselves admit, not all countries of the world participated in their study: the strictest Catholic countries of Latin America, a number of African countries where ancient “tribal” ideas about the unit of society are strong, as well as harsh Islamic states, recused themselves.

Greenlanders turned out to be the most faithful in the world – if you believe them, they practically do not cheat on their spouses in this country. One could blame the climate, but their nearby neighbors – the “cold” Danes and Norwegians came close to the top 10 cheaters – 46% of respondents in these northern countries reported their regular infidelity to their spouse. At the same time, it was the Scandinavians who admitted that they cheat on their partner “for fun” and would do it again and again “if they had a guarantee that they wouldn’t get caught.”

One of the surprises in the rating of infidelity is that Italy, which in the popular consciousness is famous for its love of love, was not included in the top ten in terms of the issue of infidelity in a stable union. Together with the whole world, we express the hope that their consciousness has simply increased, and their potency and desire have not decreased.
