The Minister of Education and Science of Buryatia, Valery Pozdnyakov, proposed raising the status of teachers to the level of the police and introducing administrative and criminal liability for citizens for insulting teachers. The official noted that the initiative to criminalize insulting teachers has not yet found support in government circles, but the head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, has already given instructions to work on the issue of including liability for insulting a teacher in the Administrative Code.
