The majority of Russian citizens (42%) have begun to eat at home more often over the past year. This is reported by “Gazeta.Ru” with reference to a study by Fix Price and the Romir research holding.

Thus, in the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts, 52% and 49%, respectively, began to eat food at home more often. In the Ural and Volga federal districts – 46% each, and in Moscow – 45%, which is higher than the average for the Russian Federation. At the same time, 6% became less likely to have meals at home – mostly citizens aged 18-24 years, unmarried and students.

The reasons why respondents began to prefer home-cooked food included the better taste of home-cooked food (57%), the desire to save money (42%) and convenience (35%). 80% of survey participants agreed with the statement that home-cooked meals are healthier.
