State Duma deputy Dmitry Vyatkin, during a speech at the economic forum in Chelyabinsk, said that Russians should have many children. He reminded the audience about the idea of former ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova, who recently stated that a woman should give birth to her first child at about 20 years old, to have time to produce more descendants are born.
“You know, I agree with her, I became a father at 19,” said deputy Vyatkin. “I have three children – that’s not enough.”
The deputy recalled the Soviet practice of obstetrics, in which a woman at 27 years old was considered “old-timer.” Today, Russian women are forming a tendency to give birth after 30, the parliamentarian complained.
Vyatkin added that in his time, having even more children earlier was prevented by studies and the need to earn extra money. In connection with the above, he suggested that the higher education system in Russia should be reformed “so that young people become adults faster.” In his opinion, the “3+1 vocational education” system is suitable for early adulthood, in which “people aged 21 will enter the economy.” While people with higher education go to work later.
“We have been dismantling the system for years,” the deputy complained, “in which our children, instead of taking responsibility, earning money, starting a family, studied, studied, studied.”
