In the city of Noyabrsk (YaNAO), a traffic cop went on trial, who bought cars for a pittance from two drunk drivers, and then sold the vehicles at their market value.
The press service of the regional department of the TFR added that at the moment the traffic police inspector is charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. For fraud using one’s official position, abuse of office and taking a bribe.
According to investigators, in 2021 and 2022, the defendant stopped two drivers on the road who were driving while intoxicated. He promised to release them from liability and his patronage if they sold their vehicles to him at a reduced price.
As a result, the drivers agreed and sold their cars to him for 30 and 15 thousand rubles. After that, the traffic cop sold the cars at the market price and enriched himself.
