The 5th racket of the world, Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev reached the 1/2 finals of the Masters tournament in Paris. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Australian Alex de Minaur, ranked 13th in the ATP rankings – 4:6, 6:3, 6:1.
The victory, despite the score in the third set, was not easy. The Russian managed to achieve it only from the sixth match point.
In the semi-finals, Andrei Rublev will meet the first racket of the world, Serbian Novak Djokovic. Tennis players played each other five times. The score in personal matches is 4:1 in favor of Djokovic. Moreover, twice last season the Serb did not allow the Russian to reach the semi-finals of the Grand Slam tournaments – Wimbledon and the Australian Open. Rublev, in turn, defeated Djokovic in his homeland, Belgrade, in the final of the tournament.
Another Russian, world number 15 Karen Khachanov, was unable to join Rublev. In the quarter finals in Paris, he lost to the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is ranked 6th in the ATP rankings.
