The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill on the fight against hogweed by land owners

The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in the first reading a bill according to which owners of garden plots will be required to independently take measures to combat hogweed.

The authors of the initiative believe that regional authorities are taking measures to counter the spread of this plant, but in fact the situation has not changed. Legislators attribute this to the position of land owners who either do not fight the harmful plant or do it incorrectly.

If the law is adopted, the new norm on the obligations of summer residents to fight hogweed will come into force on September 1.
