Russian schools will introduce a module on playing bast shoes

As early as this year, a module on playing bast shoes will appear in Russian schools as part of the subject “Physical Education”. The decision was made following the meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports Sergey Kravtsov and Oleg Matytsin during the forum of school sports clubs.
“The teachers thanked for the attention to the academic discipline, and also offered to make a separate module on the national sport — lapta. The Minister supported this initiative, and by the end of the year a corresponding module will appear within the framework of the subject “Physical Education”,” TASS in the press service of the Ministry of Education.
In 2022, as part of the Physical Education subject, seven additional modules have been prepared, including badminton, fitness aerobics, triathlon and athletics. In 2023, it is planned to develop a module for rock climbing, biathlon, tennis, roller sports.
