Russian schools may introduce basic military training with parental approval

A module on basic military training may be introduced in Russian schools if this initiative is approved by parents. This was announced by the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov.
“Federal basic general education programs have already been approved, according to which schools, with the approval of the parent community, can introduce a module of initial military training,” Mr. Kravtsov said at a meeting with Russian military men undergoing training at a training ground in Belarus.
