Russian schoolchildren win four gold medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad

In the individual standings of the XIV International Olympiad Romanian Master of Mathematics, all participants from Russia conquered gold medals. Russian schoolchildren participated in the Olympiad remotely, at the site of the Sirius Educational Center. The competition has been held annually in Bucharest since 2008 and is attended by young mathematicians from all over the world.
Medals at the 2023 Olympics were won by:
- Roman Kuznetsov (Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239) – 37 points;
- Alisa Volkova (Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239,) – 31 points;
- Pavel Prozorov (Lyceum No. 533) – 30 points;
- Eldar Khisamutdinov (Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239) – 28 points.
All educational institutions are located in St. Petersburg.
“Our team once again demonstrated brilliant results and this once again confirmed the fact that the Russian education system has been and remains one of the best,”— declared Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov.
According to the rules of the Olympiad, schoolchildren perform individual assignments for two days. In each of the rounds, it is necessary to solve three tasks in 4.5 hours. Winners are determined in individual and team classifications.
At the XIII Romanian Master, representatives of Russia won two gold and two silver medals, at the XII Romanian Master – five gold medals.
