Russian schoolchildren will play bast shoes at physical education lessons

The Ministry of Education of Russia has developed ten modules for the school subject “Physical Education”. The complexes of lessons in football, rugby, sambo, judo and chess are already ready. By the end of 2022, a module on playing bast shoes will appear.
The press service of the department announced the meeting of the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov and the head of the Ministry of Sports Oleg Matitsyn with physical education teachers and coaches of sports sections. Among other things, they discussed the expansion of the modules of the subject “Physical Education”.
The teachers offered to create a new one – bast shoes.
“The minister supported this initiative, and by the end of the year a corresponding module will appear within the framework of the subject “Physical culture,” the ministry’s press service said.
In addition to the ten core modules, seven additional modules have been prepared – badminton, fitness aerobics, triathlon, floorball and others. Next year, complexes for rock climbing, roller sports, tennis and biathlon will be developed.
