Russian Railways introduced a 15% discount on travel for passengers with children in a compartment – ​​Kommersant

Passengers of compartment cars of long-distance trains of Russian Railways who travel with children under 18 years of age will be able to purchase a ticket with a 15% discount, said the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov. The new tariff is called “Travel with Children”, it will be valid in the spring and autumn-winter periods.

“In the Year of the Family, declared by Presidential Decree, we are launching the “Travel with Children” campaign, within which we will offer a 15% discount on travel in long-distance compartment cars for all travelers traveling with children under 18 years of age,” said Oleg Belozerov , speaking at a plenary session of the State Duma (quote from website RUSSIAN RAILWAYS).

To receive a discount, you must issue travel documents for a child under 18 years of age and their accompanying persons in one order (you can purchase up to four tickets). Mr. Belozerov explained that the “Travel with Children” tariff will be valid when purchasing tickets for compartment cars of long-distance trains departing in the spring and autumn-winter periods. During the summer season, passengers with children can take advantage of other year-round promotions, for example, “Big Family” (15% discount on compartment travel for families with three or more children).

In 2023, the volume of passenger traffic on the Russian Railways network increased by 5.4% to 1.96 billion people. In long-distance passenger transportation increased by 12.7%, to 122 million, in suburban traffic – by 4.6%, to 1.074 billion. Passenger turnover by the end of last year reached 136.2 billion passenger kilometers.
