Russian Ministry of Health: more than 70 regions purchased medical services with AI technology

More than 70 Russian regions purchased medical products using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for a total amount of at least 367 million rubles. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Pavel Pugachev, speaking at the Biotechmed forum.
In particular, 32 regions signed a contract for the purchase of solutions for working with electronic medical records, 21 entities purchased solutions in the field of mammography, 17 – services for working with chest x-rays, it follows from his presentation.
According to Pugachev, Roszdravnadzor has registered 24 medical products with AI. Among them, 17 are from 10 domestic developers and seven are from seven foreign companies. Such services typically help doctors make decisions and specialize in analyzing medical images, digital medical record data and video streams. According to the amendments to the federal project “Creation of a unified digital circuit in healthcare based on the Uniform State Health Information System (Unified State Information System in the field of healthcare)” this year, additional indicators were introduced for the regions. In particular, in 2023, in 85 subjects, medical devices using AI technologies must be used in at least one subsystem of the state information system of the region.
