US air defense reported the detection of Russian military aircraft near Alaska
Four Russian military aircraft appeared on February 9 in international airspace near Alaska. This was reported by the US North American Air Defense Command (NORAD).
The command clarified that Russian aircraft were observed in this area for the third time in the last four days. Previously, they reported that they tracked the flights of Russian military pilots on February 6 and 8.
At the same time, NORAD clarified that Russian military aircraft appear in the Alaskan air defense identification zone regularly and are not considered a threat.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has previously repeatedly emphasized that Russian military aircraft fly in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. They do not cross air routes and do not allow dangerous approaches to foreign aircraft.
