Volodin: The State Duma will prohibit foreign agents from placing advertisements for Russian companies
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the State Duma will continue to make efforts to deprive persons included in the register of foreign agents of all sources of income in Russia. The parliamentarian announced this in a morning post on Telegram.
According to Volodin, he “receives numerous requests” that advertisements for Russian companies are still posted on the Internet resources of foreign agents and generate income for them. Foreign agents are bloggers who shed dirt on our country, the Duma speaker recalled.
“People are outraged,” writes Volodin. “This is unacceptable.”
Volodin said that the State Duma is discussing a new bill that would prohibit Russians and Russian companies “regardless of their form of ownership” from placing advertisements on social networks with foreign agents and on their websites.
“For those who violate the ban, strict penalties will be provided,” Volodin added.
