The Chinese manufacturer of household appliances Haier intends to liquidate the Russian subsidiary of the Italian company Candy, which it owns, due to low profitability. This is reported by “Kommersant”.
It is clarified that the production of Candy household appliances in Kirov was suspended, since the plant was supposed to work also for Europe. Thus, after the start of the SVO and the introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation, production did not exceed 300–400 thousand units of equipment per year, although initially the plant was supposed to produce up to one million units.
As part of the liquidation, some employees will be laid off, while others will transfer to Haier.
