Russian Foreign Ministry: one of the missiles fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 9 was aimed at the Crimean bridge

Ukraine, during a missile attack on July 9 against Russian targets in the Crimea, Kaluga and Rostov regions, again tried to hit the Crimean bridge. About it reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“According to experts, one of the missiles was aimed at the Crimean bridge. The shelling was another attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to destroy this object of critical civilian infrastructure,” the message says.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge in October 2022, which killed civilians, for which Kyiv recently claimed responsibility.

“Such actions would not have been possible without the financial, technical and logistical assistance of the US-led Western coalition, which is, in fact, a sponsor of the criminal activities of the regime [президента Украины Владимира] Zelensky,” the Foreign Ministry added.

The Foreign Ministry also expressed confidence that those responsible for the terrorist attacks in Kyiv will be brought to justice, and the Russian Armed Forces will also give their answer to them as part of a special operation.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported about an attempt by Kyiv to hit on July 9 targets in the Crimea, Kaluga and Rostov regions with S-200 anti-aircraft missiles converted into a strike version. The department specified that two Ukrainian missiles were destroyed by air defense forces. Two more shells knocked out electronic warfare equipment (EW). The Foreign Ministry clarified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were aiming at the Kerch transport crossing and the Morozovsk airfield in the Rostov region. On the same day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also unsuccessfully tried to strike at the Shaikovka airfield in the Kaluga region.

On October 8, 2022, a truck was blown up on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge from the side of the Taman Peninsula. Seven fuel tanks of a train set on fire in the direction of the Crimean peninsula caught fire. As a result, the motor spans of the bridge partially collapsed, killing four people. A criminal case on terrorism has been opened, eight people have been arrested.

On July 8, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar admitted that the responsibility for undermining the Crimean bridge in the fall of 2022 lies with the Kyiv authorities.
