The Sretensky District Court found the former mayor of the city of Sretensk, Yevgeny Kirgizov, guilty under Part 1 of Art. 119 (threat to kill) and part 1 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of violence against representatives of the authorities). He was sentenced to forced labor for two years and withholding 15 percent of the funds to the state.
The court ruled that on March 10, 2023, Kirgizov, being drunk and armed with a gas pistol, threatened to kill local residents, after which he became a participant in an accident, attacked police officers with an ax, who stopped his actions.
