American authorities denied Russian diplomats the opportunity to participate in the meeting of the International Grains Council, which was held on January 24 in New Orleans. The Russian Embassy in the United States expressed dissatisfaction with this decision and called it a “blatant case.”
It is noted that the number of refusals for business trips outside Washington is constantly growing; American officials do not explain the reason for such decisions and do not want to talk with diplomats of the Russian Federation.
The embassy called on Washington to soberly assess the consequences of the course towards the further emasculation of bilateral relations and to take a responsible approach to the functions of the organizer of international meetings.
