The deputy himself admitted that he faced such a reaction for the first time. The politician is not a relative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and does not intend to change his last name. “I think smart and understanding people will not make associations,” he said.
According to Russian law, the surname cannot serve as a basis for removal from the elections.
