Russian and Belarusian boxers excluded from the WBC rating

The World Boxing Council (WBC) at the rating session in Acapulco decided to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes from the ratings of the organization.
“All boxers from Russia and Belarus will be excluded from the WBC ratings,” said WBC President Mauricio Suleiman.
He also noted that fights under the auspices of the organization, including the fight for the WBC world title, will not take place on the territory of these countries.
Recall that the Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev, who also has Canadian citizenship, has a WBC world champion belt. The first place in the ranking in the first heavyweight is occupied by the Russian boxer Alexei Papin, and Evgeny Romanov is the first in the ranking in the intermediate weight.
Earlier, other international boxing organizations WBO, IBF, WBA stated that they would not recognize and approve tournaments and fights in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.
