Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on the anniversary of the Nord Stream explosion

Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council for September 26, informed First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at the organization Dmitry Polyansky in his Telegram channel.

“We requested an open meeting of the UN Security Council on September 26, the anniversary of the Nord Stream explosion. We will continue to expose Westerners to clean water,” he wrote.

On the night of September 26, 2022, pressure dropped on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, and later two leaks were discovered, which were located in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of Sweden, and two more in the EEZ of Denmark. It was then established that the pipelines were undermined; only one of the Nord Stream 2 lines survived, but it is not used for gas supplies, since Germany did not allow the pipeline to be put into operation after its construction was completed.

The investigation into the bombings has still not led to a result; periodic Western media publish notes that Ukraine could have been behind this – the Kremlin has questioned this version. In March, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov named such publications are a coordinated release aimed at diverting attention. The West is behind the pipeline bombing, they said in the Kremlin.

At the end of last year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the technical capabilities to repair Nord Stream exist, but this will require money and time.
