In Russia, a proposal has appeared to establish a six-day work week. The Association of Entrepreneurs for the Development of Business Patriotism “Avanti” sent such an initiative to the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov. Association experts believe that this should be done because of the increasing burden on the Russian economic sector as a result of restrictive measures introduced by other countries.
As Izvestia clarifies, in the submitted appeal, the authors of the initiative noted that thanks to the decisive actions of the government and the Central Bank, the Russian economy managed to cope with the blow and demonstrated resistance to stress. Nevertheless, the authors emphasized that there is a need for additional investments for the financial and economic system of the country.
According to the initiators of the initiative, increasing the working week to six days will help strengthen the Russian economy in the face of modern challenges, contributing to technological and industrial breakthroughs and strengthening economic sovereignty.
In late March, reports surfaced that the State Duma had proposed amendments to the Labor Code that would allow Russians to work until noon on Fridays, reducing the workweek to 36 hours. This initiative received the support of trade unions.
