In Russia, access to sites that help bypass blocking may be limited, RIA Novosti reports. The corresponding draft order was published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
For this purpose, Roskomnadzor has reportedly developed appropriate criteria for blocking such sites.
The draft states that the basis for blocking a site will be “the presence of information containing a description of actions that allow access to information resources and (or) information and telecommunication networks, access to which is limited in the territory of the Russian Federation.”
The draft order defines a total of 7 criteria that may become grounds for blocking a site. It is expected that the document will come into force on March 1 next year and will be valid until September 1, 2029.
