The number of cyberattacks on Russian infrastructure has grown with the start of the military operation in Ukraine, informed TASS Deputy Director of the National Coordination Center for Computer Incidents created by the FSB Nikolai Murashov.

“The number of computer attacks on the objects of the Russian information infrastructure has increased significantly. There is an increase in the speed of implementation of threats: from the moment information about threats appears, for example, the publication of information about vulnerabilities, it takes no more than a few hours to its practical implementation,” Murashov said, speaking at the plenary session of Infoforum-2023.

The way to implement cyberattacks was to agitate hackers through Telegram channels and distribute instructions for their implementation, Murashov said. According to the deputy director, the main reason for personal data leaks in Russia is a careless attitude towards servers.

On January 19, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that in 2022, about 50,000 cyber attacks on Russian Internet resources were repelled. According to him, the state “has never been subjected to such an invasion before.” As Shamil Chich, an analyst at the IZ:SOC cybersecurity monitoring center of Informzashchita, told Vedomosti, due to the political situation in 2022, so-called “hacktivists” were added to the hackers, who are massively recruited on social networks.
