Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said during the VIII Eastern Economic Forum that Russia has proposed a complete abolition of tourist visas for some countries.

He clarified that this proposal was made to Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.

“At the moment we are trying to develop the topic of transition to visa-free travel. We are now discussing such a regime with colleagues from the countries of Southeast Asia and the Middle East,” Reshetnikov noted.

According to him, in those countries that have been offered a complete waiver of visas and with which work is being done in this direction, an increase in premium class tourists is possible.
