They will be both universal and specialized

The first interstate standard in history was developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Food Systems named after V.M. Gorbatov RAS. The other day it was adopted by the International Council for Standardization and Certification.

Chewing gum is defined in the standard as a sugary, rubber-based confectionery product intended to be chewed but not intended to be swallowed. The rubber base is that part of the product that remains after chewing; its amount should not be less than 10% of the total mass. After chewing, the gum should be stretchable, elastic and should not stick to the teeth. The color, surface and shape of the product can be completely different; this is chosen by the manufacturer of the delicacy. The requirement for taste and smell is in accordance with those indicated on the packaging, without foreign impurities. The shape, surface, consistency, color and taste should be determined at a temperature of 15 to 21 degrees.

The first and main type of chewing gum is for all categories of the population, the second type is for dietary and preventive nutrition and for nutrition of athletes. These chewing gums contain vitamins or other specific additives.

The standard also determines the recommended storage conditions for chewing gum – 24 months for all varieties, but products without sugar can be stored at a temperature of 0 to 25 degrees, and with sugar – from 15 to 21 degrees. The storage room should be dry, clean and well ventilated, and the chewing gum should not be exposed to sunlight.
