Russian scientists have designed a glide missile with a homing projectile to destroy underwater targets
Scientists of the Admiral Kuznetsov Naval Academy have developed a glider rocket with a gravitational underwater projectile. Information published on the site Rospatent.
As stated in the abstract of the invention, the development is intended for use on aircraft and surface ships.
It is indicated that the glider rocket has a flight range that exceeds the flight range of a ballistic missile with the same weight and size characteristics. It provides the possibility of using it by aircraft without entering the zone of action of anti-aircraft fire weapons of a submarine.
The invention has a jet engine with a stabilizer and a device for its separation, a warhead with a gravitational underwater projectile located in it, equipped with a non-contact system for detecting underwater targets, a current source, a trajectory correction system and an explosive charge with a fuse. Additionally, it can be equipped with a folding main wing, elevators and rudders, an on-board control system with a contactless data entry device and an altimeter. The rocket stabilizer has folding blades.
