The Cabinet of Ministers approved the strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft in Russia until 2030
The Russian government has approved a strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft in the country until 2030. This opens up new prospects for the development of the industry associated with the use of civilian drones.
According to the press service of the cabinet, the already existing experience in using unmanned aerial systems, for example, to inspect the state of energy networks, became the basis for the formation of this industry. The use of drones has significantly reduced the time for inspections and reduced the risk of accidents on networks.
The strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft includes 5 main areas. First, stimulating demand for domestic unmanned aerial systems. Secondly, the development and mass production of systems, as well as the creation of large production centers for the introduction of new technologies. Thirdly, the development of infrastructure, including the construction of airfields, heliports and drone ports. Fourth, training, to ensure professional development in the industry. And finally, fundamental and advanced research for the continuous improvement of technologies and the use of unmanned systems.
In addition, the government is already working on the creation of a national project for the development of unmanned systems, which will become a management mechanism for implementing the strategy.
The press service also noted that the greatest potential for the use of drones is in agriculture, construction supervision, the creation and updating of geospatial databases, as well as the delivery of goods to hard-to-reach areas.
