Russia and Uzbekistan will equally share the money from the sale of six confiscated Moscow apartments to the daughter of the first Uzbek president, Islam Karimov, Gulnara. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan Muzraf Ikramov.
In February, it was reported that a Moscow court recognized the sentences handed down by Karimova at home. The Russian side has begun work on selling the property confiscated from Karimova and returning the proceeds from the sale to Uzbekistan.
“Funds, according to the decision of the Moscow court, will be in equal shares and used in favor of Uzbekistan and Russia,” Ikramov told reporters.
He added that Russian bailiffs are engaged in all necessary procedures.
