Russia and the United States agreed to continue cross-flights to the ISS until 2025

The cross-flight program of Roscosmos and NASA has been extended until 2025 inclusive, reported Russian state corporation. The agreement stipulates that each Russian spacecraft heading to the International Space Station (ISS) will be crewed by one American astronaut, and each American spacecraft will be crewed by one Russian cosmonaut.
As stated in the Roscosmos statement, in July and December 2023, two additions to the agreement on the implementation of the agreement with NASA on flights of integrated crews on Russian and American manned spacecraft were signed. Cross flights are necessary to ensure the presence of at least one Roscosmos representative on the Russian segment and at least one NASA representative on the American segment.
In 2023, the agreement on the operation of the ISS, which expired in 2024, was extended. International partners on the ISS extended the operation of the station until 2030, the Russian government until 2028. Head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov in 2022 saidthat Russia will withdraw from the ISS project after 2024, but in a state corporation decided not to rush. Mr. Borisov promised that the Russian analogue of the ISS would be built by 2032.
