Russia and Pakistan reaffirmed their intention to deepen the dialogue
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Islamabad.
How told at the Russian Foreign Ministry, politicians noted the traditionally friendly nature of relations between Russia and Pakistan, gave a high assessment to the achieved level of Russian-Pakistani cooperation and interaction on international platforms.
Lavrov and Bhutto-Zardari, in their messages, reaffirmed their mutual intention to consistently deepen political dialogue, develop multifaceted cooperation in counter-terrorism, trade, economic and other fields for the benefit of the peoples of our states.
Earlier, Western media reported, citing secret Pentagon documents that were widely available due to a leak, that some states, including Pakistan, are using the rivalry between Russia and the United States to their advantage. It was noted that the Pakistani authorities receive financial support from Washington, which amounts to billions of dollars, but at the same time they maintain contacts with China.
At the same time, Islamabad is in no hurry, at the insistence of Western countries, to condemn the Russian special operation in Ukraine, since this would jeopardize cooperation with Moscow in energy and trade.
