Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Vereshchuk: I do not recommend Ukrainians to take Russian passports in new regions of the Russian Federation
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk did not agree with the statement of Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets, who advised Ukrainians in Russian-controlled territories to obtain Russian passports. Vereshchuk wrote about this in her Telegram channel.
“My recommendations to Ukrainians [на подконтрольных России территориях] remain the same – do not take Russian passports, ”writes the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine.
She also noted that the Ministry of Integration of Ukraine again appealed to the Russian side and the International Committee of the Red Cross with a demand to open humanitarian corridors to enable people to travel to the territory controlled by Kiev.
It is worth noting that earlier Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets advised Ukrainians who are in Russian-controlled territory to obtain a Russian passport.
