Russia and Belarus can develop common approaches to teaching history

Following the results of the 10th Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, which took place in Ufa on June 26-28, Russian and Belarusian parliamentarians decided to take the initiative to develop common approaches to teaching history.
Legislators took the initiative to form “common standards and approaches in assessing the joint history of Russia and Belarus.”
“To recommend the governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus to develop a common scientifically based historical standard containing conceptual assessments of historical events and personalities, common approaches to teaching history,” the forum’s resolution says.
