Diplomats of the Russian Federation commented on reports about the suspension of air traffic between Antalya and Moscow
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation commented on reports in the media, which, citing Russian tourists, reported on the alleged “cessation” of air traffic between the Turkish Antalya and the Russian capital.
In the afternoon of May 14, telegram channels and a number of media began to publish publications about the delay of more and more new flights departing from Antalya to Moscow. It was reported that flights of both Russian carriers and Turkish airlines were delayed. At the same time, tourists in social networks complained about the lack of information about the reasons for flight delays and the time of departure to Russia. According to passengers, several hundred Russians have accumulated in the terminal of the Antalya airport, who did not get to their homeland on time.
Diplomats deny rumors about the termination of flights between the countries. The Consulate General said that the reason for the flight delays was the repair.
“Delays at the airport are related to repair work on the runway,” the diplomatic mission told TASS.
The consulate also said that they “received only one call yesterday” from tourists and that as a result their flight was delayed by about half an hour. At the same time, tourists currently waiting for their flight in Antalya are reporting many hours of delays.
