On October 16, the first stage of the PARI-Russian Rugby Championship for the 2023-2024 season ended. In the elite division of Russian rugby, the Nizhny Novgorod region is represented by Khimik from Dzerzhinsk, whose management and its fans are not happy with the results. The black-and-greens still cannot win their first victory at a new level, having limited themselves to two matches where they were able to score bonus points for defensive actions.
“Khimik from Dzerzhinsk” finished the summer-autumn stage of the 2023-2024 season in last place in the PARI-Russian Championship. The team from Dzerzhinsk lost in all 8 championship matches, gaining only 2 points. “Khimik” has 2 bonus points, which they managed to score in matches against Moscow “Slava” and “VVA-Podmoskovye”. Khimik’s closest competitor is 8 points ahead.
In the spring of 2024, the teams of the elite division of Russian rugby will play one more round, but Khimik, like last season, most likely will not be able to take a place in the top 8 and reach the playoffs to fight for 5th place at the end of the 2023 season -2024.
