Competitions among chess players dedicated to the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Komsomol took place in Novokuznetsk. The tournament was attended by athletes who began playing chess back in Soviet times and perfectly understand the words “Komsomol” and “Soviet Union”.
Deputy Chairman of the Novokuznetsk City Committee of Komsomol Veterans Irina Popova and Chairman of the Federation of Trade Union Organizations of Kuzbass Oleg Marshalko took part in the event as guests of honor. It is worth noting that Oleg Marshalko not only supported the athletes, but also won one chess game himself.
The winner of the festive tournament was the teacher of the city Palace of Creativity named after N.K. Krupskoy Mikhail Fenin. He did not lose in a single game and scored 5 points out of 5 possible.
