RT: searches began at PMC Wagner Center in St. Petersburg

Representatives of law enforcement agencies entered the headquarters of the Wagner private military company PMC Wagner Center in St. Petersburg, RT reports with reference to the Fontanka publication.

The report says that searches have now begun in the PMC Wagner Center. In addition, it is reported that establishments near the Blagoveshchensky Bridge, associated with the founder of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, were also cordoned off.

Earlier it was reported about the holding of anti-terrorist measures in Moscow and the Moscow region. Reportedly, these measures are aimed at strengthening security measures. Among these measures is the introduction of additional control on the roads.

The measures are being taken against the backdrop of the situation with the statements of the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that on behalf of Prigozhin, false information about the attack on the Wagner PMC camp was being disseminated in social networks. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation on Friday evening, June 23, stated that the allegations spread on behalf of Yevgeny Prigozhin had no basis. The Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service of Russia, in its message, called on the fighters of a private military company not to follow the orders of the founder of the PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and also to detain him. The Kremlin said that President Vladimir Putin is aware of the situation and that the necessary measures are being taken.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian law enforcement agencies, including the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian Guard, round the clock report to Russian President Putin on the measures taken on his instructions in connection with the attempted rebellion. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov reported to Putin about the criminal case against the founder of the Wagner SVK Yevgeny Prigozhin under Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the fact of organizing an armed rebellion. As part of the case, it is planned to give Prigozhin’s actions a proper legal assessment. Article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years.

One of the commanders of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, General of the Army Sergei Surovikin, addressed the commanders and fighters of the Wagner private military company in connection with the latest statements of its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin. He also called on the “Wagnerites” to stop and recalled that the Kiev regime was waiting for the situation inside Russia to worsen. He urged not to “play into the hands of the enemy in these difficult times for the country.”
